The great-great Grandson of Henry Ford, Will Ford, received an adrenaline rushing experience aboard the Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon at the Winton Motor Raceway earlier this week.
Ford was a special guest of the Ford Performance Racing outfit during the morning of their test day and was a passenger alongside Mark Winterbottom for a couple of flying laps.
During his ride Ford, son of the Executive Chairman of the Ford Motor Company Bill Ford, gained a real appreciation for the power and performance of the V8 Supercar and exited the car with a smile from ear to ear.
“It was an honour to have what could be referred to as ‘Ford Royalty’ come for a ride at Winton,” said Winterbottom.
“He’d never seen a V8 Supercar live in the flesh before, so that was a whole new experience for him to just see the cars, let alone experience a couple of hot laps.
“Will certainly left the track with a great appreciation of V8 Supercar racing and I think we converted him into a real fan within just a few laps.”
It is understood that Ford also spent time with the Geelong AFL players prior to their blockbuster game against Collingwood at the MCG last Friday night during his brief trip to Australia.
